Daily Prayer with Our Daughters

We should pray for and with our daughters on a regular or daily basis. As a busy working mom of a teenage daughter, I find myself being lazy, too busy and tired to pray with my daughter. The power of prayer is real. Although my daughter is accustomed to the idea of prayer in the home, I want to encourage her to develop her own prayer life. With all of the distractions of being a teenager, i.e., the good and bad influence of her peers, social media, and television. I ask myself, where does she find her source of strength, source of faith, and hope and help from the Lord? As her mom, I want to encourage her to pray often, thanking God, praying for others and praying for strength to overcome any of her challenges. I want to be instrumental in her development of faith in God and the ability to seek out the will of God for her life.

Let’s start a daily prayer with our daughters.

I love the prayer (below) from the internet.

O God, we pray and beseech you to guide and protect young people from the dangers that are ever present in our world today. Be with them, as they experience both sickness and health, sorrow and joy, loneliness and friendship, success and failure. Gracious God, give to them the courage and strength to make the right decisions as they journey through life. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, may they come to know and experience your loving care. We make this prayer through Christ Our Lord. Amen

Wow, I believe what you did here with this is amazing. Yes I also think that the mother daughter relationship is a bond that cannot and should not be broken. I can testify to the fact that a mother’s love for they’re child is strong and unconditional, but a mother daughter bond is special. Words cannot explain!
